Fancy thinking outside the box? I know for a lot of excited brides and grooms to be out there, the idea of seeing each other BEFORE the ceremony is utterly unthinkable! I get it, I really do! For my own wedding we followed tradition, and like most couples in the UK, had all our pictures taken after the ceremony. However, have a look at the points below and wonder, just for a minute, if having most of your pictures taken before the ceremony could be a great decision! 1) Hanging about Congratulations, you're married! Yeay! Let's paaart... no wait. First you need to disappear and have your pictures taken whilst leaving your guests to entertain themselves for a couple of hours until dinner. Sound good? Now, imagine you've already had the majority of your photos taken earlier in the day. Think about all that time for you both to relax, celebrate and hangout with all your guests. After all isn't that what you really want to do? 2) Strike a Pose You've just had your hair coiffed to perfection, your makeup is flawless and your flowers are fresh from the florist. There has been no time for food or drink spillages. You haven't cried your way through the ceremony yet (never underestimate how emotional you will be on your wedding day!). You are looking positively glowing. THIS IS THE BEST TIME OF DAY TO HAVE YOUR PICTURE TAKEN. 3) My Best Friend's Wedding You're about to commit to spending the rest of your lives to each other but you don't get to see your best friend until the ceremony begins (along with the rest of your guests). Seems a bit odd when you put it like that, doesn't it? Seeing each other before the ceremony will not only give you a chance to have some quiet time to soothe the nerves before the madness of the day begins, it also allows you to catch your breath and take stock of the journey you're about to go on together. Surely that's the best way to begin your wedding day - together.
